Strengthening Primary Healthcare Through Community Action
Since 2018, Nexacare has supported primary healthcare in Kano State through malaria prevention, maternal and child health outreach, routine immunization training, commodity support, supportive supervision, and data mentorship.
Our Key Projects
01
Community Maternal & Child Health Outreach
Nexacare conducted community outreach across Gama, Tudu, Gayawa, and Tudun Murtala wards in Ungogo and Nassarawa LGAs. Services included malaria in pregnancy testing, malaria treatment for under-five children, SP distribution for prevention, and malaria testing using recommended field tools.
02
Routine Immunization & Malaria Capacity Building
Nexacare trained routine immunization service providers on the updated National Immunization Schedule and malaria in pregnancy prevention. The sessions strengthened provider knowledge, improved service readiness, and supported safer, more consistent delivery at health facility level.
03
Supportive Supervision & Data Quality Mentorship
Nexacare provided mentorship to clinicians and facility staff on correct use of immunization, antenatal care, and malaria registers. The activity strengthened record keeping, improved reporting accuracy, and supported accountability in frontline service delivery.
04
Commodity Readiness & Field Logistics
Nexacare supported commodity preparedness for community outreach, including malaria rapid diagnostic test kits, Sulphadoxine-Pyrimethamine for malaria in pregnancy prevention, and field materials required for organized service delivery.
