Surveillance and IDSR
What this pillar means
Integrated Disease Surveillance and Response (IDSR) is the framework that detects, reports, and responds to public health events. Our pillar work supports facility-level case detection, community-based surveillance, sample collection logistics, and timely notification. The pillar is aligned with the Nigeria IDSR Technical Guidelines (3rd edition) issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
How we work
- Standard case definitions training at facility level
- Form 001 / Form 002 reporting discipline
- Sample collection support per NCDC protocol
- Community-based surveillance through community health volunteers
- SORMAS use where deployed
- Outbreak preparedness and response support
- Priority condition focus: AFP, cholera, meningitis, measles, Lassa fever, viral haemorrhagic fevers, yellow fever, mpox
